For the past seven years the Isaac Balami Foundation; an NGO geared towards empowering and uniting people, has been directly involved in uplifting the status of the less privileged in the society through skills’ acquisition youth empowerment programs.
The Foundation has played key roles in fostering a good living standard for many homeless and orphaned children in Nigeria, irrespective of sex, tribe, religion or ethnicity. To this effect, the school fees, and tuition of over 400 children have overtime become his personal responsibility.
So it doesn’t come as a surprise that Engr. Isaac David Balami, the philanthropist behind the foundation celebrated his latest birthday with more than 500 orphans, labourers and unemployed youths from all over Abuja.
Many supporters of the Isaac Balami Foundation joined family and friends to celebrate Balami’s birthday which was held on August 25th 2014 at City Park in Wuse II Abuja.
Among those in attendance were members of Young Ceo’s Forum; who donated a house to a homeless woman, Nigeria Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE), Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, Association of Unemployed Youths, Unskilled Labour Union, Cottage Industry in Kaduna, the Young CEO Business Summit and members of National Youth Council.
The children from Shepard Orphanage and Zion Orphanage in Gwagawalada and Lugbe respectively felt so much love and happiness as they enjoyed food, drinks and charitable donations.
The orphans also took turns in showing off impressive talents in dancing and choreography. It was truly an emotional and a heart warming day.
During his speech at the occasion Balami stated that the reason why he invited so many to his birthday was to celebrate life but most importantly to raise awareness for his foundation’s Project 1 Million initiative which is aimed at sending 1 million less privileged children from all around Nigeria to school.
He said Project 1 Million has been the core vision of The Isaac Balami Foundation since its establishment and challenged all able Nigerians to donate at least $100 to the cause. Pictures and more below:
